I may have needed to read this. I fall into the category of non standard education for software, and I keenly feel that it's on me to figure out what certs to take, websites to practice on etc. Still trying to figure out what I WANT to do with it all. Or where to start, now that I've finished my first cert for back end dev things.
Totally agree! Our brains love to save energy, so they push us to give up at the first sign of discomfort. But if we can just stick it out a bit longer, we often find that hard work really pays off!
Great read. I too really struggled with programming the first couple of tries. I learned OOP in Java during my freshman year of college and just could not wrap my head around it. It took years until it finally clicked. Not sure if it was the language I was using when things clicked or just the fact that I just kept trying, but it eventually made sense. Good reminder that if you feel drawn to something, it’s probably something you should put some serious time and effort into.

I needed this today. Thank you for sharing!

Nice job man!
I had a similar experience. I discovered my passion for software engineering through the challenges I faced in learning and solving problems.
"I enjoyed it because it was hard for me"
"I have this passion today precisely because I struggled"
This is really inspiring! Thanks for sharing.
Nice ✨
